How many internship positions are available?

JCPH will host up to 4 interns per semester.

How do I apply for a JCPH internship?

Complete an internship interest form. After your form is submitted a JCPH staff member will reach out to you with more information regarding an interview, and the next steps of the application process.

I completed my interest form. When do I start my internship?

After completing your form JCPH will work with you to schedule a time to interview, to learn about your interests, and to share current opportunities and projects. After completing the interview with JCPH, you must complete a University Health Allied Health application. All internships are pending until completion on the University Health application.

What do I need to prepare for the University Health application?

In addition to the application questionnaire, students must have the following available:

  • Signed Affiliation Agreement on file between University Health and your university
  • A signed Coordinator Form from your academic institution
  • Vaccination Records
  • Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (2 doses of Moderna or Pfizer or 1 of J&J)
  • Two-step TST (Tuberculin Skin Test) or an IGRA (Interferon-Gamma Release Assay)
  • Completion of myWORKDAY trainings compliance trainings prior to start date (will be sent to students)
  • Complete a badge request form through University Health Security

My university does not have an affiliation agreement. Can I still intern at JCPH?

All universities must have current affiliation agreement with University Health. If your university does not currently have an agreement, the university can complete one.

Jackson County Public Health is managed and operated by University Health. Students attending academic institutions without signed Affiliation Agreements between their university and University Health can expect up to 2 months (6-8 weeks) of additional time to process and complete their application prior to interning. All internships are pending until completion of the University Health application.

I have questions regarding vaccination and TB testing requirements.

All vaccination and TB test questions should be directed to clinicalaffiliation@uhkc.org.

It is after the application submission period, can I still apply?

Because the JCPH application, interviews, and the University Health Allied Health application take a minimum of 30 days to process and complete, JCPH cannot guarantee applications summited after the submission period will be eligible.

Are remote internships available?

Most internships require students to be available on site. Remote internships are extremely limited depending on the project.
