Summer 2026
Soccer Safety
Your healthy fan playbook for summer soccer is here.
Make a game plan for heat and crowded places.
Whether you’re headed to the stadium or gathering around a TV, it’s smart to prepare for extreme heat and plenty of people.
- Stay hydrated and wear sunscreen if you’re spending time outside.
- Make an emergency plan in case of separation, especially if your fan club includes young children.
- Utilize ConnectKC26, public transit, or rideshares, especially if you’re drinking alcohol or consuming THC.
- Don’t hesitate to reach out to our team for resources. Plus, check out our summer events at JCPH and in the community!
Vaccines are great goalies.
Protect yourself and your team around you. By catching up on vaccinations now, your immune system will be better equipped to fight off illnesses in the future.
We offer affordable immunizations for both adults and children at our location in Lee’s Summit. We also distribute essential information on communicable diseases and vaccines to local healthcare providers.
unsafe choices?
Give it the Red Card
Have you seen Red Cards around town? We made those! And we’re making videos for each game day, too. Subscribe to our YouTube channel for upcoming PSAs on these relevant health topics.
- Sick? Stay home!
- Tossing trash? Don’t miss the goal!
- Staying outside? Don’t skip water or sunscreen.
- Don’t wait. Get ahead on vaccinations.
- Don’t guess. Know your STI status.
- Never use alone. Friends carry naloxone.

When it comes to substances, play it safe.
Naloxone (also known as Narcan) is a simple nasal spray that can reverse opioid overdoses and save lives. Everyone should carry naloxone – you never know when you’ll need it.
We offer naloxone nasal spray, fentanyl test strips, and overdose response guides throughout Jackson County for everyone’s safety. Carry naloxone, never use alone, and always test your drugs for fentanyl.
Getting tested is a two-player game.
Since STIs don’t always have obvious symptoms, getting tested regularly is a vital part of looking out for your health, as well as your partner’s health. It’s on both of you to schedule appointments and communicate with each other as you discover new relationships.
Find a STI testing location that works for you.
In addition to your primary care provider, STI testing is available throughout Jackson County. At JCPH, we serve the area of Eastern Jackson County outside Kansas City. If you are a KC resident, we can help point you where to go in your service area.
Jackson County Public Health
We provide confidential STI testing at our clinic in Lee’s Summit for eligible patients ages 13 and older. Patients must meet certain state-designated criteria to receive STI testing at our clinic. You can receive testing if one or more of the following apply to you:

- You need to be re-tested for an STI 3 months after completing treatment.
