PASSIONATE ABOUT HEALTH

We provide public health services to more than 278,000 residents in eastern Jackson County.

89% of health happens outside of the doctor’s office. That’s why we are passionate about working to ensure that all people have the opportunity to live their healthiest lives throughout Jackson County.

Not only do we provide essential clinical services, we work upstream on policies, environmental conditions, and community factors that all play a role in health.

Celebrating 100 Years and counting

When JCPH first opened in March 1925 under the name Jackson County Health Unit, the health department focused on disease prevention, family health care, and hygiene education. Since then, the small rural health unit has grown into the resource we know today — serving hundreds of thousands of residents across Jackson County.
