At Jackson County Public Health, we believe everyone deserves access to care, no matter your insurance status, income, or background. That’s why our clinic offers low-cost, high-quality health services in English and Spanish, including childhood immunizations, STI tests, physicals, and more.

Childhood Immunizations & School Vaccines

If you do not have insurance or are under-insured, you’ll pay just $20 per child for your visit— regardless of how many vaccines your child needs.

ADULT IMMUNIZATIONS & OTHER SERVICES

We accept most insurance plans and offer clear, low-cost pricing for all services.

Missouri students are required to be up-to-date on vaccines before attending school. To help parents knock one more thing off their to-do list, we offer back-to-school immunizations at our clinic.

If you have a student entering Kindergarten, 8th, or 12th grade (or a student who needs to catch up on immunizations) make an appointment with us! Our clinic gets busier as school approaches, so schedule early to beat the rush. Appointments are required.

before your visit

  • After booking an appointment, you will receive electronic forms via email. Please fill out these forms before your appointment.
  • Arrive 15 minutes early to allow time to check-in.
  • Please bring your child’s immunization record to the appointment. Request a copy of your child’s immunization record here.

Need a copy of your child’s birth certificate for school registration? Use our online express pick-up service to pick up a copy during your visit. Request a copy of your child’s birth certificate here.

Starting a new sport, school, or job? A physical exam ensures you’re ready to safely participate.

We offer several types of physical exams for adults and children:

Daycare or Preschool Physical — $50  

For infants and toddlers. Includes a health assessment completed by a healthcare professional and a discussion about recommended primary immunizations based on your child’s age.

Sports/Camp Physical — $50

For children. Evaluates general health, current fitness level, risk of injury, and physical well-being. Recommended for anyone participating in sports programs or camp activities.

Adult Physicals — $75 

For ages 18+. Adult physical exams may be required by a prospective employer or your insurance provider to evaluate your overall health.

Jackson County Public Health provides confidential testing for HIV and other STIs (sexually transmitted infections) for patients 13 and older.

A fee of $20 per patient will be charged for STI clinic visits. Treatment is available as needed and high-risk reduction counseling is offered.

If you’re NOT experiencing STI symptoms please confirm that you meet the state’s testing criteria before making your appointment:

WHAT KIND OF TESTING DO YOU OFFER?

Our STI clinic tests for:

  • Chlamydia
  • Gonorrhea
  • HIV
  • Syphilis

We treat all positive test results and contacts for chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis. We also treat, but do not test the following conditions:

  • Herpes
  • Trichomoniasis
  • Yeast
  • Bacterial Vaginosis

Please make sure you do not urinate for at least 1 hour prior to your scheduled appointment time for urine testing purposes.

Do I qualify to get tested?

Patients must meet certain state-designated criteria to receive STI testing at our clinic. You can receive testing if one or more of the following apply to you:

  • You’re experiencing STI symptoms. (burning when you urinate, rash, warts, vaginal drainage or itching, penile drainage, testicular pain)
  • You’ve had contact with someone with chlamydia or gonorrhea.
  • You need to be re-tested for an STI 3 months after completing treatment.
  • Female age 15-24 and have had at least one partner in the last 12 months.
  • Female age 25-44 and have had a new partners in the past 60 days or 2+ partners in the past 12 months.
  • Male with at least one male partner in the past 12 months.

HOW LONG SHOULD I WAIT BEFORE GETTING tested?

For chlamydia and gonorrhea testing, you should wait three weeks after a possible exposure to get tested.

For HIV testing, you should wait at least four weeks after a possible exposure to get tested.

Being vaccinated protects you and those around you! Jackson County Public Health offers immunizations for children and adults, including travel and flu vaccines.

General Immunizations:

Traveling abroad means exciting new experiences— but it can also mean a risk of encountering diseases not commonly found in the US, like measles or typhoid fever.

Our travel consults include a risk assessment for your specific travel destination and a discussion about required and recommended travel vaccinations. An APRN can provide a prescription to prevent or treat common travel-related illnesses.

how much does a travel consult COST?

Travel consults have a base price of $50, plus the cost of any needed vaccines for travel.

JCPH OFFERS THE FOLLOWING Travel Vaccines:

  • Japanese Encephalitis
  • Typhoid
  • Rabies (pre-exposure)

Do you need an affordable TB skin test? Our clinic can help. Here’s what to know before your appointment:

  • The cost for a skin test is $25. This includes the follow-up visit.
  • If you schedule a TB test, you MUST return in 48-72 hours for the reading of the results.
  • We do not offer chest x-rays for TB diagnosis.

Our clinic offers free KN95 masks + free test kits for COVID-19 and flu! No appointment needed — just stop by our front lobby during business hours (Mon.-Fri., 8 am to 4 pm) to pick yours up.

These at-home tests detect COVID-19 as well as Flu A/B. Instructions are included in both English and Spanish.

Show Me Healthy Women (SMHW) is a statewide program that provides free breast and cervical screening, re-screens, and diagnostics for uninsured or low-income women ages 21-64. These services are available to women who meet specific age, income and insurance guidelines.

Our clinic can provide free breast and cervical cancer screenings for qualifying individuals. Check your eligibility for free cancer screenings via the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services website.

HOW TO SCHEDULE

To confirm your eligibility and make an appointment, give us a call at (816) 404-6400 during our business hours. Appointments must be made by phone, not online.

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS

  • SMHW includes follow-up for all clients
  • Diagnostic and treatment services are available to most clients who are found to have a cancerous or pre-cancerous abnormality through breast and cervical cancer screening
  • SMHW clients diagnosed with breast cancer, cervical cancer, and/or cervical pre-cancerous conditions are eligible for MO HealthNet Breast & Cervical Cancer Treatment (BCCT.)
    • Women enrolled in BCCT must be a legal Missouri resident under 65 and have a screening and/or diagnostic test paid by SMHW.

Need an official copy of a birth or death certificate? Your visit to Jackson County Public Health’s clinic is the perfect opportunity to pick one up. For same-day pick-up, make sure to choose our express pick-up option and submit your application online at least one hour ahead of your visit.
