JCPH is now Sensory Inclusive™ Certified
Jackson County Public Health has partnered with KultureCity® to earn Sensory Inclusive™ Certified status, which enhances our ability to assist and accommodate guests with sensory needs. Sensory sensitivities or challenges with sensory regulation are often experienced by individuals with autism, dementia, PTSD and other similar conditions; age is no factor in this. Individuals might become overwhelmed from the lights, sounds, or other external stimuli at our building.
Our goal is to provide an inclusive experience for all guests during your visit. We strive to raise awareness of the needs and challenges faced by individuals with sensory processing needs by supplying our staff with annual training and by offering the resources and accommodations below to our clients.
KultureCity® Sensory bags
KultureCity® Sensory bags containing communication cards, fidget tools, and noise-canceling headphones are available for checkout at no cost by completing a sign-out sheet at our front desk. Sensory bags can be used for all abilities of all ages.
Social Story and KultureCity® App
KultureCity® has put together a social story to guide visitors through what to expect during your visit: https://venue.kulturecity.org/venues/jackson-county-public-health.
You can also download the KultureCity® App for iPhone or Android to get your social story:

By achieving Sensory Inclusive™ Certification through our partnership with KultureCity®, Jackson County Public Health is committed to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all visitors. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to access our services and feel comfortable during their visit. With resources like sensory bags, social stories, and ongoing staff training, we are taking steps to ensure that our facility is a safe and inclusive space for everyone in our community. We look forward to continuing to serve you with care and compassion.
